Myths and Tips

Myth: Darker skin does not need to use sunscreen

FALSE! Everyone needs to use sunscreen. The skin barrier needs to be protected as harsh sunrays are harmful for all types of skin. Using sunscreen helps protect the skin from getting melanoma (skin cancer). While it is not as noticeable on darker skin tones, they can get it just as easily as lighter skin tones.

Myth: You should exfoliate your skin everyday

While exfoliating is good for your skin, using harsh exfoliates, like scrubs, can be irritating to skin. It is recommended to exfoliate 1-2 times a week!
